At Walton Road we like to keep it as simple as possible. We want it simple enough that a child could understand it. Most of the events or groups are relaxed but focused. Let’s take Bible study as an example. During a Bible study session a teacher will talk about or teach about a portion of scripture. From that we hope the students will learn what the Bible is saying, what God wants us to know and how we can apply it to our lives. Some of our teachers prefer a lecture format while others are more discussion oriented. This is a time we encourage people to ask questions about the subject being taught. It helps people to learn and process their thoughts about God. Worship on the other hand is a time for people to connect more intimately with God. It is a time of inspiration and challenge. During this time there is normally one or two people that lead the group in connecting directly with God. We do this through prayer, group singing and hearing someone (the Pastor or guest speaker) speak about God and or God’s instructions on daily life. The goal of all of our times together is to experience God in deeper ways through knowing more about Him as shown in the Bible, living it out in our daily lives and helping others, who want to know more, do the same.
